Paint doesn't match after a previous repair, can it be fixed without a full respray?

Bought my car used about a year ago and only recently noticed in certain light that the rear door has clearly been repainted, the shade is slightly off from the rest of the car and there's a subtle texture difference you can feel if you run your hand across the panels. It's not obvious in shade or at night, but in direct sunlight it stands out and it bothers me every time I wash the car. I don't want to respray the whole side if I don't have to, but I also don't know if blending a single panel properly is realistic or if it'll just end up looking different again in another way. A colleague recommended Zenfo Auto Services auto body shop and said they do proper colour matching rather than eyeballing it, which got me thinking about whether my current mismatch is a colour issue or a technique issue. My questions are whether a good shop can blend a repair panel so it matches the rest invisibly, how much of the surrounding panels need to be involved to make it work, and whether the existing paint being a year old makes matching harder or easier. Also is it possible the mismatch is just clear coat related rather than the base colour itself?
